ThaBloc is a winding collection of photographs, poetry and short short stories that tell the tale of ThaBloc as seen from inside Baltimore City.

As are poems metaphorical, so is thabloc, which is not only a assembly of metaphors but a metaphor itself for not only thablocs of East Baltimore but of blocs all over the country and indeed all over the world. ThaBloc is a photo/poetic boomerang, a magical ride that begins and ends in almost the same place. A compilation not merely bound together but individually connected to one another in small ways with tiny strands of words. Each photograph, poem, item is like a thread, complete, with a beginning and an end yet connected as a part of a larger tapestry of ideas about the way we are , have been and are becoming. In many ways ThaBloc is an imitation of an old southern quilt assembled by many hands spanning and thus defying time and place.
